Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center

We decided to do a family field trip today.  We started out with overcast skies and heavy winds.  It didn't get any better!  In fact, it added to sleet to it.  Our destination was to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center out by Portage.  The ride down was nuts due to the wind.  We hopped out at Beluga Point to take a picture in the insane wind.....

We used a Northern Lights Coupon to get into the Center (buy one, get one free).  We saw moose, bear booties (they were far off), musk ox, eagle, wood bison, elk, caribou, lynx......Gotta love the Alaska Wildlife.  It was crazy windy while we were there but we continued on!

We picnicked in the car at the bear enclosure hoping that they would make an appearance....

Mac was worn out!  We went into the store (100% of the store's proceeds go back to the Center) and Mac picked himself out a bear and he picked out a fox for Nora.  It makes me smile!
