Half Bath Redo

So....Mac and I have lately been spending a lot of time in the downstairs half bathroom (yay, potty training).  The more time I spend in there the more that I completely hate it.  Seriously.  The walls are pink.  The ceiling is pink.  Everything is this bad bad pink.  I literally sat on the floor today and scrubbed the linoleum but you can't tell.  It still is awful.  During Mac's naptime I made the executive decision that if I have to spend that much time in there then it needs to be nice.  So I began taping.

See how bad that is.....

Phase 1: Mac went to sleep and I got out the paint (well, technically Joe got out the paint).  I was determined to get rid of at least the pink ceiling.  Once I started painting, I very quickly realized that this was going to require more than one coat of paint (dang pink).  However, I kept at it.  It took me longer than I thought it would.  Let me tell you, painting a ceiling is not easy, especially in a small space with not much maneuvering room!

Phase 2: Joe painted the bathroom.  Apparently, I go to slow.  But I do not get paint everywhere like...cough cough....someone.  Now it is time to clean all of the painting stuff out of the bathroom and for me to decorate.  Decisions decisions.

leavin on a jetplane...

Ha.  Nope.  We are not leaving on a jetplane but we did go to the airport yesterday to pick up Tas and Goodmama!

While we were getting read to go to the airport, Mac had to go potty.  What does he do on the potty?  He calls MoeMoe....

Coloring & B-dubs

After Mac's nap yesterday, we did some coloring.  He colored for a little bit but then he decided telling me what to draw was a WAY better idea!

In case you didn't know, I am in now way a Picasso.  That point is illustrated above.  Here is what he told me to draw (in case you couldn't figure it out): fire truck, water hose, house on fire, sunshine, a red orange, circus, cake, grapes, purple poop, Mac, and a dinosaur.

When Joe got home we decided to go to Buffalo Wild Wings (B-Dubs) for dinner.  They play a lot of top 40 hip-hop-y music.  Mac was feeling that beat because he kept standing up and dancing.  It was HILARIOUS.  If I hadn't lost my phone at the time (found it at home in a basket) I would have totally videoed it.  He loves to dance.

What we have discovered.....that we do not own many Mac movies.  We went to Target last night after dinner and picked up Finding Nemo and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.  Disney movies will now be forever on his wishlists.

Joe decided to pressure wash the front of the house.  I got a picture....

Today is going to be a day of painting and mad cleaning.  Laundry must be done.  Floors need to be cleaned.  Floors need to be vacuumed.  Stuff needs to be dusted.  Counters need to be scrubbed.  I need to find a magical elixir that will clean the kitchen sink.  Bella just came in from playing with Heyward and apparently the dogs need a bath. BUSY BUSY BUSY.

Pants off, Dance off

I put Mac down for his nap this afternoon at 1.  He did not go to sleep until about 2.  When I looked in the camera to see that he had finally fallen asleep, I could not believe how he fell asleep.  So I went in his room to make sure that I was seeing this.....

Sarah came over for dinner (we feed her once a week when her husbeast is on the slope) and after dinner we went outside for a little bit!  After she left, Mac was pretty wet (like heavy diaper from playing in the water) so we took his diaper off.  Just let him run around au natural.  He kept patting his booty.  And that is a rather large booty.  It is just so cute that I couldn't help but take this picture....

Double the Fun

Last night we had double the fun.  We had DOS (that's right) earthquakes.  One was at about 9.  It was a 3.9 I think and about 34 miles south of Anchorage.  I woke up in the middle of the night to shaking but I thought I was just going nuts because I had taken Benadryl for my crazy allergies.  Wasn't dreaming.  At about 3:30 this morning, we had a 4.4 earthquake which doesn't sound very big but it was only just over a mile away from Downtown Anchorage. Welcome to Alaska.  After the first earthquake, I went to check on Mac....this is how he felt about the earthquake.

Our friend told us how much her daughter Cayla loved a water play table.....so we got one for Mac yesterday.  He LOVED it!

Got a video too:

At some point yesterday, I was cleaning out our closet and Mac was running around in his room playing.  This is what he ended up looking like....

Right now, there are two toddlers upstairs and it is very quiet.  A little nervous.  I am watching Cayla so Caryn can go to the gym.  When she gets back, I am going to the gym!  I guess I better go regulate......

Color. Baseball.

So I have figured out that I don't have a cold.  I have allergies. The cottonwood trees are releasing all of these puffy things in the air......ta da!  Sneezing.  Coughing. Runny nose.  Success.  The weather is gorgeous outside but it is killing me!!!!!!  This means that I have been getting things done in the house. I cleared out our storage under the stairs.  We have just been toting around a lot of just crap.  We have been moving these tupperware boxes around for years without ever looking in them.  That changed.  I cleaned house (and yes dad, we are itemizing and donating).  Our friend Nick's mom knows how to make t-shirt quilts and she is going to make some for us so I can quit toting around boxes of tshirts!  I am SUPER excited about that!

Here are some funny pictures that were floating around on Facebook:

My friend Lisa posted that one to my Facebook wall.  It made me giggle.

Heyward was tired after playing outside!

Since I have been hermitting it up, I did more "art."  "Art" in my world gets created in Microsoft Word and I save all of them on my computer.  If you want any of my "art" just let me know because I still have all of them!  The one I created, framed, and hung up yesterday makes me smile every single time I come in our front door.

I bet you smiled when you looked at this picture!

When Joe got home from work, he worked on the bathroom for a little bit while Mac and I colored outside with sidewalk chalk.  Mac had a GREAT time!  I drew a sun for him and he spent a while jumping on it yelling "sunshine."  Silly boy.

**Get ready to be photo bombed**

Mid-jump

about to jump

Daddy is drawing a shark

Shark!

Look at those big honking feet!

Guess what?  I also got video!!!!!!

Joe's new baseball bat came in (they cracked his other bat).  He was super excited about it.  He slightly panicked when he let Mac hold it (as in you would have thought that Mac was holding a brand newborn baby by the way Joe was acting).

Our friend Caryn has been in the lower 48 for the past couple of weeks.  She called me from her trip and said that she had gone to this antique store and got me a present.  I was crazy excited!  She knows that I have a deep seated love for all things antique.  She came by yesterday with Cayla so that Mac and Cayla could play and she brought me my present!  I LOVED IT!  I bet my face was hilarious when I opened it!

See?  Beautiful!!!!!!
