Hambewgers. That is how Mac pronounces hamburgers. Hambewgers is what we had for dinner. We don't fix Mac any other food but what we are eating and he won't be getting anything else if he doesn't eat dinner. Tonight, he tore up the pasta salad and ate the bread off of his hambewger. He did not eat the hamburger. Silly boy.
Look at how blonde his hair is getting!!!!!!! We spend a LOT of time outside. However, we are supposed to be getting some rain in the next couple of days. I have been loving the heat and the sun but we desperately need some rain!
Here is a throwback picture from two weeks ago when we went to the park....

Yard Work
We accomplished a LOT in the yard today. I discovered that the bushes in our yard are Lilac bushes....well except for the two funky bushes against the fence. No one knew what those were. Our awesome neighborhood diagonal across the street gave me advice on how to prune the Lilacs. So I did. There is one dead in our yard but apparently the root system is huge on them so we are just going to cut it down level with the ground and move on. I also trimmed the Lilac on the edge of the fence and it looks SO MUCH BETTER!
Speaking of along the fence, there were two terribly ugly dead shrubs hanging out next to the fence. UGLY.
Ok, so I took this picture after I had already ripped the other ugly bush out. But you get the idea on how ugly the bush is (the one on the right).
See how proud I am that I beat that shrub's butt????
And here is what it looks like with the two ugly shrubs ripped out......
It is amazingly better. It is going to look EVEN better when the house gets painted and the fence gets painted!

Time Out
Sometimes (and by sometimes I mean a lot) Mac needs time out. Sometimes this mommy would LIKE a time out for herself. Mac was up for literally about an hour and a half when he was put in his first time out. Oh man. Having a two year old and a puppy is exhausting. EXHAUSTING. However, they are both so dang cute!
I am a little behind on posts and pictures so.....

They were waiting for pizza....
My Thirty One starter kit came in and Mac LOVED the box!
This was this morning about 15 minutes before time out. He loves wearing his new Crocs. I really wish we had been able to find the Lightning McQueen ones in his size!
Joe had to take today and Friday off so we are going to get things done around the house. Right now, he is in the garage building one of Mac's bookshelves. I cannot wait to put all of Mac's books back on a shelf rather than all over the guest bedroom......
Does someone want to come put me in time out??????

To Do
I need to hold myself (and Joe) accountable. Mac is napping so I am going to put together a giant to do list. Well, maybe not so giant because these things need to be attainable. I do have a mental long term to do list going on in my head (I really like lists). This is not necessarily in order
-Pressure wash fence
-Buy fence paint
-Paint fence
-Pressure wash house
-Prep house
-Buy house paint
-Paint house
-Pressure wash deck
-Buy stain
-Stain deck
-Rip out gross bushes in front yard
-Plant Spruce tree (trees?)
-Reorganize garage (eventually do built in shelves like our friend's Lee's garage)
-Clean out boxes that we continually haul everywhere with us that are currently living under the stairs
-Fix gates
-Clean out office
-Build the rest of Mac's furniture
-Clean out guest bedroom closet
-Move Mac's toys back into his bedroom from the guest room
-Plant in the planter thing in the front yard
-Water my Juniper bushes
-Fill in Heyward's holes
OH MAN WE ARE GOING TO BE BUSY.

First Official Day of Summer
Today was my first official day of summer break! Joe went back to work. I stayed home with Mac and the puppies! Mac and I spent some time outside....where he splashed in water and faceplanted the fence. He has been super clumsy today and been falling into everything. I have no idea what is going on with him!
Mac got put in time out yesterday for shoving
Mac was upset over just faceplanting into the fence. Got a big knot on his head.
We got a box in from Goodmama full of clothes for Mac!
This is how you really fly an airplane!
Mac is styling in his new Towmater sunglasses
Last night, Heyward passed out under the dishwasher....

Memorial Day
Yesterday we spent the ENTIRE day outside (and I have the tan to prove it)! Caryn and Nick came over to help Joe with some of the house stuff. He has started replacing the boards that he can reach. Apparently, the previous people put not good wood up on the house. Joe is replacing it with hardy board (?). Obviously I have no idea what I am talking about when it comes to that kind of stuff.
We did set up a mini water park in our backyard though (consisting of a tarp an this water thing that hooks up to the water hose). Mac and Cayla had a great time!

Someone is getting sleepy
A 2.5 second slow down....
Ready! Go!
He is so happy!
Heyward is TIRED.
This thing was cool....even if the water was FREEZING!
The only one I am missing is Joe in this picture...
About to squish mommy.
SQUISH.
Heyward squished as well.
Then he got distracted by the water.
Snack!

BBQ'ing
As I write this, I am sitting outside in GORGEOUS Alaskan sunshine. Heyward is sleeping behind my chair. Mac is running amuck. Our friend's the Homerding's are coming over to help Joe get the house prepped for painting.
Yesterday, we had people over for grilling! It wasn't as nice of a day but whatever! It is summertime! We had over the Homerding's, the Powers', Kris, and his girlfriend Patty. Joe made ribs. We had grilled corn on the cob and zucchini. Caryn made her amazing strawberry shortcake (which I might be eating for breakfast). After dinner we threw some cornhole.
