The Sleeping Faces of Nora

Last night Nora did something awesome.  She slept from 9 until 4 this morning!  What what!  She spent a large portion of today sleeping too.  She did have some play time and during that time she played hard.  But the majority of the day was spent with her sleeping.  She is actually sleeping on Joe's chest right now.  Mac even got in on the photo bombing action.  As the theme of this post is sleeping, it is pretty obvious that the only pictures that I (or Joe) got of her today involved her sleeping......

Sunday Funday

Today was really a Sunday funday.  We got up.  Had our coffee.  Ate some donuts.  Mac and I headed to the front porch for some more chalk time.

After Nora had a surprise giant blow out this morning, she got a cute new romper outfit on.  Oh my goodness!  Girl clothes are wayyyy cuter than boy clothes.

Joe prepped a brisket to be smoked.  He stuffed it with bacon and onions!

The sun was out and bright this afternoon so Mac and I headed back out to enjoy some bubbles.  Little kids love bubbles in a way that I cannot comprehend.  Watching the sheer enjoyment with bubbles makes me smile.

I attempted to bring Nora out.  She was super tired so I know that she just needed to sleep but it was just too hot to hold her.  I put her in a laundry basket.  She lasted 2.5 seconds.  Once she got inside, she passed out.  All it took was a Joe.

Joe helped our neighbor go pick up a new patio set and while he was out he grabbed a cheapo kiddie pool.  I had the brilliant idea to put it at the base of the slide.  It's a true story.  I am a genius.  Mac had a great great great time playing in it!

Joe and Nora even came out to partake in the fun!

Let's do chalk

Mac and I were able to spend some quality time together this weekend (thanks Joe!).  We took out the sidewalk chalk yesterday and did drawings all over the driveway.  He was drawing lots of aliens.  He tried to trace me at one point and decided it was just much more fun to write on me.  Man, do I love that kid.  Even when he is insane.

What I discovered about sidewalk chalk?  I discovered that I do not at all have any drawing skills.  None.  Nada.

Nora busted out her romper shorts yesterday and it was oh so cute....

Here is my awesome husband with his daughter!

Blog Post Titles

I really suck at blog post titles.  As in not successful with it at all.  Some of the blogs that I follow have cutesy titles....some use song lyrics.  I got nothing.  So here is the recap of the past two days.

Yesterday we snuggled.  We went upstairs where my kiddos watched tv in our bed while I did laundry.

I got my hair did.  I am now more blonde.  Gotta cover that white hair.  Mac went to soccer practice.  He chose to wear his train conductor hat with his dinosaur rain coat.  While at practice (Nora and I did not go as it has been raining nonstop), Mac and his friend Oliver were making it rain grass.  Weird kids.

Last night, I had the first shift of getting up with Nora.  She sucked down 4 ounces (go on big girl!) and it took a little bit to get her back to sleep.  By the time I got her back to sleep, I was wide awake and it took even longer to get me to sleep.  Suffice it to say....I am pretty dang tired today.  Two thermoses of coffee did nada for me.  I am pretty sure that I have not had a shower or put on deoderent.  I definitely do not have makeup on.  Lady of the year right here.

Tonight, Joe had a late softball game so I stayed home with the kiddos.  Mac watched his shows.  Nora played.  After Mac went to bed, Nora did some catnapping in my lap.  She did some catnapping and some passing gas (Mac has informed me that only boys fart).

I am a little sad.  We were planning on redoing our decks this weekend.  Stupid weather is not at all cooperating.
