7:21

When I started writing this post it was 7:21.  I am in the bed.  Today was a LONG day.  However, I came home to a package at the door....the first round of Christmas presents that I ordered came in!!!!!  I am SO excited!

I love when Joe gets home with Mac because Mac comes hauling it down the hallway on a mad hunt for me.  It makes my heart happy.

He ran amuck playing.  I love watching him play.  I would really like to know what he thinks when he is playing....

Mac and I spent some quality time hanging out on the sofa.  He looked at ("read") a book for a while.  This means that he pointed at all the cars and said "cars".  Then he got distracted by "trux".  He also gave me lots of kisses which I love!

It is super cold up here (and super dry) so Joe built us a fire and it was toasty and awesome.  Mac came to sit on my lap and then this was my view....

A friend of mine took a picture of the sun going down from our school.  This was taken at 3:30!  SUNSET.  If I had windows in my classroom....this is what I would see!

Squidward

Mac has decided to try to say Squidward (from Spongebob if you did not know this) and I can't even begin to type how it comes out sounding.  He was getting mad at the tv when Spongebob went to a commercial break.  Part of me is really glad he likes something like Spongebob rather than Dora the Explorer or Yo Gabba Gabba or Dino Dan or The Backyardigans.  He does not even like Sesame Street.  He LOVES Spongebob.  This morning when we put his Spongebob t-shirt on, he kept patting his belly and going "Bob" "Bob."  He is super silly.

Joe actually got home before I did today.  I got to hang out with the little man while Joe went to the gym.  We have discovered the land of Pirate's Booty, which is an organic veggie or cheese puff thing and he LOVES the veggie ones.  We watched a lot of Spongebob (thus the paragraph above).  His new thing is for some reason to stand with his hands behind his back (I seriously have no idea where he gets that from).

We also did a little dancing....

**Sorry the videos are so dark but we the light blew in our main living room light and we have not quite decided how to replace it because it is WAY up there.

Mac always sits with us at the dinner table and today his big thing was drinking out of Joe's cup.  He kept sticking his tongue out onto the bottom of the cup and I seriously tried getting a picture/video but I don't think you can see what he is doing with his tongue.  Silly boy.

Today, I tried a new thing.  I tried the Tuesday night Zumba because I made a new workout friend and she said that she has done that class before.  So I met her there today.  I made it a big whopping 45 minutes but then I could not stand it anymore.  It was seriously like taking a Zumba class from Richard Simmons.  I am not kidding.  We did ZUMBA to the song "It's like thunder....lightning....the way you love me is frightening.....better knock....on wood....baby.....WOOOOOOOOOO."  B-A-D.

On an Alaska-y note, the Aurora has supposedly been really active lately (which I think is a big fat lie because I still haven't seen it).  They are saying that tonight is a good chance to see it and the fact that there is a lunar eclipse in the morning is pretty cool.  Here is a picture some Geo-something place put up about the viewing....

And here is a website that I found that shows you where the lights can be seen at (I believe right now)....whatever.  It just looks pretty.  CROSS YOUR FINGERS WE SEE THE NORTHERN LIGHTS FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE WE HAVE BEEN UP HERE.

Aquarium Update!

Hey er'body! I haven't done an update on my tank in a while, so I thought that I would do one tonight.... Now that I have gotten through my little (by little, I mean I almost threw the whole tank off the back porch) algae problem that has been going on since I set up my tank. No worries though, the tank is almost algae free, except for the algae that my hermit crabs haven't gotten to. Ok, so here's some pictures.

Here's a picture of my electric clam, with some zoanthid coral pieces on top of the rock. Also there is some red bubble algae that I bought to help fight the green hair algae:

You can't see it too well, but there is my crab in the middle of the picture:

Here is the clown fish! He tried to get into every picture!
Another picture of my electric clam next to the pulsing Xenia coral. Those guys are really cool, they are constantly grabbing at the water to try and get some food:
Here's a picture of my two Sexy Shrimp (I promise, that is what they are called!). They like to stand on top of this coral and give it a hard time. I'm not sure if its going to make it since it is closed a lot of the time.
Below is a good view of the green star polyp coral, that stuff has really been growing fast. It will eventually start to grow up the rock that is behind it.
Here's a really cool picture of my funky mushroom coral. I have no idea what kind of mushroom it is but it is really cool. You can kind of see its mouth in the picture. They will actually eat food if you blow it in its mouth using a turkey baster, but it will also live with photosynthesis.
My big candy cane shrimp actually came out for some pictures! He doesn't make an appearance from behind the rocks very often.
Another picture of the clown fish getting camera time.
 And another:
A side view of the tank:

Large and in charge

Today was a funny day.  Apparently one of my students lost a bet over the break and his consequence was he had to wear a dress today.  HILARIOUS.  I cracked up laughing when I saw a big ole football player come down the hall in a dress.

Mac was super/slightly cranky when he got home.  He didn't really nap today.  Cranky.

He eventually calmed down.  Then Joe got him riled up again.......DAAHHHHHHH

Something funny that Mac does.....he likes to stand with his hands behind his back.  I have no idea who he got that from....

Mac had a great time playing with my front facing camera on my phone again.  He is so silly.

Then Joe decided to throw Mac WAY up in the air.  Mac loves that.  I would not love that.

House divided

Today is the day of the year that Joe and I are house divided.  GO DAWGS! (Yup, as I am the one who does the majority of the posts I can write what I want).  However, in respect for Joe (and the huge beat down they were going to take) I decided that Mac would be team neutral today.  So....he wore Caribbean clothes.  HILARIOUS.

So....since UGA was giving the beat down to Tech, Joe and I decided we would go out and run some errands.  The sun was super bright!  It was very pretty!!!  I kind of wish we had more snow though.  I think we are sitting at 4 inches.  At this point last year we had over 32 inches so we are very behind in snowfall.

While we were out at Target, we got Mac a big boy toilet.  He did not get one of the mini toilets but a lid thing that goes on a regular toilet.  He liked it.

Mac sat on a toilet today once.  We are just wanting him to get used to it.  Today, after we got home with his toilet lid, he said "peepee" and then ran in the bathroom.  So we took his pants and diaper off and stuck him on the toilet.  Nada.  But it's ok.  I think these things happen in small steps.

Mac acted a little sleepy so into the crib he went.  He did not sleep.  I am not kidding.  He was in there for literally like an hour and a half before it went silent.  He fights naps so hard.  I was able to sit on the sofa and read my book.  It was awesome and relaxing.  When he got up, he was a little irritable but then he got over it.  He just wanted to snuggle for a little bit.  Sweet baby.  Once he really woke up, it was game on in the land of play.

Speaking super loudly....

Reading.

Telling us his business.

He did a lot of toddler babble today.  He is getting better at stringing words together (when he wants to).  His little voice is so sweet and makes me grin.

And switching gears....here is what our Christmas tree looks like...

My Doorbuster Deal

Ha.  I did not do Black Friday.  My doorbuster is Mac's smiling face!  Joe had to work today so it was just me and the little man.  He actually slept in for a while (didn't get up until like 9).  We watched a LOT of Spongebob this morning.  Apparently, Spongebob is now Mac's favorite show.

For lunch Mac got into cheesepuffs and cheese sticks....oh my.

When Joe got home (while Mac was asleep), we put up our Christmas tree!  I LOVE LOVE LOVE this time of the year!  When Mac got up, he was super entertained by the tree.

Mac got a little angry that I wouldn't let him pull of an ornament.

Mac LOVES Bella.  Like a lot.

What got Mac over from being upset was jumping on Joe.  He thought that was a LOT of fun!  Then Mac started passing a lot of gas and it was even funnier because it was on Joe....

For dinner, we didn't want Thanksgiving.  So Joe headed to the awesome Taco King for some food.  He brought Mac back a soft taco and I was not really sure how this was going to work out.....
