Putting Mac to work

Mac does chores.  I probably need to increase his amount of chores but he does them!  Yesterday, he helped make dinner and he did laundry.  He cleaned up toys.

Here's the proof.

Maintaining

Yesterday we were supposed to have family dinner night with the Lindeens.  I didn't end up going because I hurt so incredibly badly.  I literally fell asleep for the night at 6:30.  Before they left, Joe picked me up a chicken wrap from Carrs and I hung out with my kiddos.  They greatly love each other.

Today I had pre-op.  I met with my doctor.  We went over what would happen in the surgery.  I got all of my prescriptions.  I have to go back on Monday, the day before my surgery, for lab work.  I got word on meds I might have to take until I hit natural menopause.  It has kind of hit me today the fact that this is really happening.  In a week, I will be having a full hysterectomy.  This is for real.  I go in at 8 and my surgery starts at 9.  It will roughly take an hour.  I will be in recovery for a while.  They are going to try to go through my other incisions.

Shopping with the kids

Shopping with my kids is always an adventure.  Always.  We try to get in and out as quick as we can. There is strolling or window shopping.  Wham bam, thank you ma'am.  Sometimes this is a good thing...because I am pretty sure that I would spend way more money in Target if we were leisurely strolling about.

Oh the planning

It just hit me that Nora is going to be one in like a month.  Where did that time go?  I don't understand.  How is she almost one already?  How in the world am I going to plan and do a party for my sweet baby girl three weeks after my surgery?  It will work out, it always does.  I am probably going to need a LOT of help.

Here is what I have put together so far since I had this realization.

Lemonade Stand

May 30 @ 4

Location:
Cash house (maybe fully set up outside)

And Bingo was his name-o

I have that song stuck in my head. I am super sleepy so here are the pictures from today and yesterday.  After I finish posting, I am going to bed.  Cool person right here.

Parenting

There are rare times that we have to go in and wake one or both of our kids up.  Apparently, this morning was one of those times.  I had already left when Joe got the kids up.  Apparently, Mac didn't want to wake up because he was sleeping super hard.  Mac has been struggling with sleep lately so it feels like a parenting win when we have to wake him up in the morning...

Another parenting win?  Cheerios.  Cheerios occupy my daughter which enables us to get things done.  Knowing where she is at is important because Nora is mobile.  Cheerios.

Even making a bed can be a chore with the kids running around.  However, another parenting win was accomplished.  I laid on the floor and they climbed all over me while Joe was able to make Mac's bed.  ANOTHER parenting win!

There is no privacy as a parent.  When I was a child, I am pretty sure that I didn't leave my mom alone no matter what she was doing.  Karma has paid me back.  Try to have a relaxing bath?  NOPE.  I had a 4 year old standing next to the tub talking to me.  Then when I asked him to get out, he did.  Only as far as the doorway though.

However, a parenting bonus is you get to dress your little girl in whatever you want.  At least now you can while you have the control.
