Alaska Museum of Science and Nature

On Saturday, we decided to take Mac to a new museum that we had heard about.  I think it has been open for like a year but we just now decided to try it out.  As Mac is currently fascinated with dinosaurs, it seemed like the perfect time!  And BONUS, we had a coupon for it in the Northern Lights Coupon book.

The museum is located on the East side of town, not terribly far from where we used to live.  The building had a giant T-Rex on it....

It is $5 per adult and supposedly $3 for ages 3-12.  I think the guy at the counter either thought Mac was younger (not likely) or he just didn't care (probably more likely).  Mac LOVED looking at all of the dinosaurs. He was able to actually touch the majority of things in the museum.  It was pretty basic.  I wish there had been more dinosaur stuff though.  It was pretty cool looking at things that were alive 85 million years ago.

They even had a little archeological "dig" site for kids to "dig" up dinosaurs.  Mac had a great time playing in it but then was told that if he through the "sand" one more time that we would be leaving.  Needless to say, he threw the "sand" and then we followed through on our threat.  Screaming ensued.
