Work is crazy stressful so I don't do as good of a job keeping up with blog posts as I would like. I need to step it up so my posts aren't always so random. But I think even if I kept up with blog posts my posts would still be random because I have attention difficulties. I feel like an internet page that is opened with 5 million tabs. So without further ado, let the random thoughts commence...
Joe bought me a macaroni and cheese cookbook for Christmas (pretty sure that was a strong hint). Today, we tried out a macaroni cheese shepherd's pie recipe. Joe loved it. I thought it was just ok. I wasn't a fan of the cream sauce for the macaroni and cheese. A bonus though was that it enabled us to sneak veggies to Mac.
The other night we had breakfast wraps and Nora discovered a deep love of playing with the bag that holds the tortillas. She sat on the counter while we got dinner together. Mac also joined to read her a story on the counter. We are trying to work on Nora eating non-pureed foods and it is not going very well for us. She just can't do it without choking noises. The food will literally be at the front of her mouth and she is doing choking noises. Not really sure what to do....
That same night we made breakfast wraps, Joe and Mac headed to soccer. I stayed behind with the cranky girl. I got her in the sleeping position and gave her a bottle with a blanket over her head then BAM. She was passed out during her bottle. I always feel successful when this happens. Please note that this was NOT the case tonight. Tonight, Joe couldn't get her asleep upstairs in her bedroom so he just stuck her in her crib awake and she put herself to sleep. She does a good job doing that!
Yesterday, Mac brought down the giant pile of dirty laundry that was in our room. It was seriously huge. I have no idea why I let it get so big. I should probably be embarrassed. Anyway, so Mac brought down the giant pile and sorted it and loaded the wash and started the wash. Slave labor at its finest! Because he did that, we gave him a giant pile of coins to put in his moose bank. He wants to buy an "ipad" with his coins. He thinks that any technology is an ipad. We have already bought him a leapfrog for his birthday.
Mac was really good today (he is sleeping through the night and taking naps again, thank you Melatonin). Joe promised him that we would go to the bookstore if he was good so the Cash family went to the bookstore after dinner. He played with the train table. I got some books. I picked out a book for his birthday. Nora watched him play. Joe did what Joe does (aka he went off to try to find superhero comics for Mac's birthday party but was not successful). Mac picked out a Jake and the Neverland Pirates book/toy set thing. Generally we have a giant battle with him when it is time to leave but not this time. He picked out his book and then informed us that it was time to go home. My mind was blown! No tantrum!
Today has been a good day!

Standing?!
Nora has decided that she is going to stand. We have to put her in the standing position but she is standing once she gets there. And she likes it! This is weird because she really doesn't like being in her bouncer too much. Mac LOVED his bouncer. I wonder if there is something else out there that could work on her leg strength that wouldn't be a bouncer?
She even had a good time standing when we were at Barnes and Noble. Her standing does not last long and like I said, she can't put herself in that position. BUT she is standing!

Mac shoots milk
Today, Joe got a video of Mac shooting milk out of his nose while he was laughing. HILARIOUS.
This week is spirit week at work. On Monday, I wore neon. Yesterday, I wore workout clothes. Today, I wore my pink waders. Tomorrow is superhero day but I don't have anything.....and Friday I have to wear black.
Check out the multiple bath times for my kids...
On Sunday, I spent some quality time lesson planning for the rest of the week and two weeks into february. Fun. I am obsessed with my Erin Condren lesson planner. Whenever I am not in education, I am going to use her life planner. LOVE it.
Sometimes else that I love? My Boscia black mask. It is awesome. It hurts like crazy pulling it off but it makes my skin oh so soft.
The other day Joe came downstairs with Nora and when he got downstairs with her he had put a barrette in her hair. He was so proud of himself that he thought he figured it out. He had it in the middle of her hair with her hair sticking straight up. I think eventually he might figure out how to do the hair thing....

Joe did that to her.
Mac got ahold of my ipad the other day and gave Santa a new haircut. He somehow figured out how to save it to my ipad....

Lazy lazy lazy
Our kids let us sleep until 8:40! WHAT? Joe is trying to get Nora to go to sleep as I am typing this. Mac is playing a veteranarium (I have no idea how to spell that word) game on my iPad. I am watching Rev Run's Renovation on HGTV. I thoroughly enjoy this show. It makes me giggle. Here is the last week in pictures....
Mac wanted to read Nora a book this morning.
Check out how cute they are!
This was the beginning of the week when we had no snow.
See? No snow....
NO SNOW. We got about 5 inches in the past 2 days though....still not a lot. We are about 3 feet behind in average snowfall.
Look at my big girl sitting up!
Mac loves her oh so much.
Her double chin makes me giggle.
Yes, I like cupcakes.
This was during our boys being at soccer.
He makes me happy.
He had just informed me that I can't kiss him. Little does he know that I do what I want.
He loves playing with her and she absolutely loves being around him. She will twist her whole body around to see him when she hears his voice.
I have no idea what he was doing.
That was his response when I told him to say cheese.
Today was awesome because I went to get my hair done. My roots were crazy!
If you put bunny ears on me, I could catch some cable channels.
My new color!
Mac is rocking his Uncle Alan's hat. He loves it!
Joe is attempting to get Nora to go to sleep. Second time ended up being the charm.
