ALASKA: Bore Tide

When we left the Trail of Blue Ice yesterday, we headed back North on the Seward Highway.  As we were driving along, we noticed some people out on the water on paddle boards (yup, they had on wetsuits).  As Joe was asking "why are they doing that?" I noticed that there was a giant wave coming. We were finally seeing the Bore Tide!  It is a big wave that comes in with the tide.  Joe and I have never seen it since we have lived here in Alaska so we were pretty excited.  Joe hastily pulled over so I could jump out and try to get pictures.  Unfortunately, I did not get pictures of the Bore Tide up front (but my friend Sarah did).  I did get some pretty cool pictures though!
