I've got a fevah.....

No seriously, I had a fever.  Recovering from surgery has not been too fun.  I think I am now at the irritable, annoyed part of the recovery process.  I can't really do anything.  Literally....I have not been able to drive....hold Mac.....exercise.....etc.  So what have I been doing?  A LOT of googling has been going on.  I discovered Pinterest so now I am getting all sorts of ideas for organizing and houses.  I have also been googling houses.  Our real estate agent wants to show us 5 houses tomorrow and I am pretty excited in particular about 2 of them!  To be continued on the home shopping front.....

Joe is really excited because his softball team started practice today.  I am still not able to take care of Mac by myself so Joe took Mac with him and our friend Caryn watched him and her daughter Cayla at the softball fields.

When Joe got back, Mac decided to continue to tear apart our living room/kitchen.  He somehow climbed under the stools....silly baby.

Joe's new toy

Joe was able to pick up his new toy yesterday......a camper.  He is beyond excited about this.  It is currently parked crooked in our driveway and I have no idea how I am going to get my car out of the garage...but he is happy!

All Joe needs to do now is get it packed up....and figure out where we are going to go camping first!  The flat screen tv is being ordered to go in it!  We need to get something to make the bed more comfortable (it is a Queen sized bed).  Yeah...there is probably a lot of stuff that we need to get for the camper......

The big man plays so hard.....and he gets oh so tired......

Word of the day: No

Mac was SUPER rambunctious today.  As in that statement could quite possibly be an understatement.  He got into EVERYTHING.  EVERYTHING.

He tore apart my magazines.....

He got into the Coke box.....

Then he threw a fit because his GoodMama wouldn't pick him up.....(sorry I can't rotate it)

On a Jami health note: I hit the bottom of the barrel last night when at about 3 oclock in the morning I started throwing up.  I thought I was dying.  Throwing up after you have had surgery is MISERABLE.  So today I am super sore and I feel terrible.  To make that even better, I am running a slight fever.  Yuck.  I still don't really have my appetite back.

On a house hunting note: I talked to our real estate agent again today and he emailed me some listings to take a look at and to let him know what we think.  There were 2 we wanted to see.  I am pretty adamant though that the kitchen be on the ground level.  I refuse to carry up my groceries to the second floor any more than I have to. Joe is still waiting for the mortgage guy (Adam) to call back so we can figure out what we can afford and down payment and all of that other financial stuff.  I am a little nervous about how much we are going to have to pay out of pocket up front to buy a house.  It is kind of hard to save a lot of money when you pay as much in rent as we do.

On an Alaskan note: Joe dropped off his truck today so that the camper hitch can be installed.  He picks up our camper tomorrow.  He is soooo excited about it and it makes me smile.  I am a little nervous about him backing the camper up in our driveway.....

Whoopsie.

I haven't not posted in a while.  Whoopsie.  I have had a lot of stuff going on though so it is ok.  I am recovering pretty well from my surgery (had right ovary, right fallopian tube, and growth removed) but today I over did it and now I don't feel too good.

We met with a real estate agent today and saw a house. The house had cute curb appeal but the neighborhood was just ok (lots of multi-family buildings nearby). The downstairs of the house had a great set up BUT the back yard was no bueno and the upstairs layout was tiny/cramped.  The search continues!

In the world of Mac: he is walking EVERYWHERE.  He plays super hard during the day with my Mama here taking care of me/him.  His vocabulary is hugely expanding.  It now includes: yeah, no, un-unh, mama, dada, ju (juice), welcome, woof, night-night, na-na (banana)....

Spatulas!

Mac has a serious love of spatulas....and spoons....and cabinets....and opening drawers.....

When times get tough....walk it off.

So I now have a couple of mottos.  I figure I need to think of things to try to be positive.  The first quote I found while googling quotes to make a friend of mine feel better.  I couldn't find a quote for her but I found an awesome one for me!

"Tough times never last, but tough people do."

The next quote always makes me think of what my Daddy or any coach I have ever had said to me.  Every time that I got knocked down or jammed my finger or did anything painful while playing a sport, I was immediately told to "walk it off."  I HATED being told that.  However when I started coaching myself, I found myself saying it to my basketball girls.  So my other motto is.....

"When times get tough....walk it off."

I am not supposed to be doing exercise for pretty much the next month while we figure out what is going to go on with me.  However, I feel like leisurely strolling is not technically exercising.

GORGEOUS day + new bike trailer/stroller Cash family afternoon stroll

Mac had a GREAT time hanging out in his new trailer/stroller thing!  He sang to himself, played with his toys, ate animal crackers, bounced around in his seat.....I think when Joe goes jogging with him or when we pull him behind our bikes that Mac is going to LOVE it!  He always loves when Joe pushes him really fast in a stroller or grocery buggy.

It's hammer time!

Today has been an awesome day!  Had a great family breakfast (coffee and cinnamon rolls)...I got my hair colored (we are slowly taking my hair lighter to cover up my not so awesome white hair)....I bought 2 new pair of shoes....went to Costco....watched Mac take all of his toys out all over our living room....AND Joe and I are going on a date tonight to Simon's & Seafort's and I am SUPER excited!

Mac cracks us up when he walks.  His walk reminds me of ET waddling.  He likes to walk around either holding his wooden hammer or a pancake spatula.  What makes his walking even more amazing is that his GIGANTIC belly hangs out of all of his clothes.....

Mac has a new evil giggle that he does and it is so funny!  I have no idea where in the world he got it from but it keeps us highly entertained!

Bigfoot Round 2

So this has been a pretty terrible week for me.  CRAZY work schedule/projects going on.  Had to get cavities filled.  Found out my tumor has come back.

I have been having crampy pain for about a week and then on Wednesday night the pain got super intense.  In hindsight I probably should have just gone to the hospital then but I did not.  I called the doctor the next day and they sent me in for an ultrasound/sonogram thing.  That test did not go the way I thought/hoped it would.  They found another growth immediately.  At first I was making jokes about my stupid right ovary but then it hit me what could possibly be happening to me again.  Since I was crying in the waiting room, the awesome people at Advanced Sonograms let me sit in one of their offices and play on the internet.  The technician came in to check on me and saw that I was looking at shoes on Nordstrom's website.  He asked me if shopping was making me feel better and I said no.  (yes, hell has frozen over when I was not interested in shoes or shopping).

I finally got the news that my doctor wanted me to come over to his office.  Joe met me there.  What Dr. Hinkle wanted me to do is just wait for a little bit to see if the tumor goes away on it's own.  If the pain does not lesson or if it gets worse over the next week, we will consider surgery.  If (when I go in for the follow up sonogram in roughly 6 weeks) the tumor is not smaller at that appointment then we will consider surgery.  Dr. Hinkle said that if he has to go in to surgically remove the tumor then at that time he will probably just remove my right ovary because of how many problems I have had with it.  Apparently, my stupid right ovary is overactive.  STUPID RIGHT OVARY.

Dr. Hinkle does not want me working out for like a month.  I am not to lift anything heavier than Mac.  For the next week, I am to take it as easy as possible.  He did not want me to work today (which is why I am blogging).  He put me on Vicodin.  I hate this.

On a happier note, Mac has gotten very adventurous in his walking and what he gets into.  He is currently very fascinated with opening and shutting drawers in our kitchen along with the cabinets.  He very gently will lift out the lid to a pot, giggle, and then put it back.  That baby!

On an Alaskan note, it is completely GORGEOUS outside.  The snow is melting.  The sun is super bright.  Joe and I cannot wait to pick up our camper and be able to go camping with Mac!  Joe is super excited about the stuff he gets to buy for the camper (so silly).

Easter!

Mac had a great Easter!  He played literally the entire day!  He did not want to miss any minute of walking around!  He got up this morning to scrambled eggs and then he discovered that the Easter bunny had been by!

In the afternoon, we headed over to the Homerding's grandparent's house for Easter dinner!  We had a great time watching the babies play and watching Mac walk around everywhere.  Their grandma got Mac an adorable Easter gift!  They are so sweet and we are very lucky to have great people like the Homerding's in our lives!  We talked a lot about how excited we are for summer and camping weather as well as the guys' softball team to start up.

On the way home, we stopped by Babies R Us and played with some of the strollers.  We really need to find a lightweight everyday stroller for Mac.  We are also looking for a great bike trailer that can convert into a good jogging stroller.  I wish we could afford the best (which is apparently a Burley or a Chariot) but they are EXPENSIVE!  So I think we are going to stick with like a Schwinn.  We will see!  Apparently Easter just all sorts of wore my little man out....

Oh, and on an Alaska note....we hit the snow record!  We have 134.something inches of snow which is the most recorded in Anchorage ever....

Here's more shenanigans from the Bear! He has gotten to where he walks as much as he crawls. We are in for some fun times with our little man!

Let's go hiking!

The other day we got our new hiking pack in that can carry Mac!  We really cannot wait for breakup to be really over so we can go on hikes with Mac!  Since we were so excited that we got the new pack we decided to do a test run in our neighborhood!

24/7

Hola!  I am a LITTLE behind in posting but life has been crazy lately!  We had testing this week at my work and that was just nuts.  We took pictures of Mac in the morning yesterday morning and this morning!  I love that big man!  We weighed him and he weighs a whopping 27 pounds!  BIG MAN!  He is walking so much better now...he takes a lot more steps....and when he falls it is no way graceful!

Mac is awesome 24/7!

Whap!  He LOVES playing with hangers...

So much fun!

No hanger to throw around so he just flops his hand...

Chunk.

We have discovered that Mac does not really care for Mac and Cheese.  I find this weird.  After Mac ate dinner, he was covered in peanut butter and jelly.  He had a GREAT time playing in the bathtub.  He kept pouring water over his face while he was lifting toys up....and then with water pouring down his face he would start super laughing!  When we got him out of the tub, we let him have nakey play time on the changing table.  He kept opening the curtain and flashin his naked self in the window....silly boy!

Look at that crazy hair!!!

Not a very cute picture of me....but super cute of him!

Mr. Disaster

We have found a recipe book that so far has been awesome!  It is called "Deceptively Delicious" and you hide veggies in good food!  This morning we made Mac french toast with sweet potatoes.  Joe and I also had it for breakfast and it was really good!

We took Mac this morning to the Sportsman Show.  We walked around for like an hour and a half.  He was in a really good mood for pretty much the whole time!  We found a store that sells RV supplies that we are going to go check out later.  We got a LOT of brochures for cities/areas to visit this summer here in Alaska.

Mac took a nap when we got home so I went to the gym and had my butt kicked in a Hot Zumba class!  When he woke up, we went to Best Buy where Joe got himself (supposedly for both of us but come on....) an Ipad 3.  He is having a good time playing with it.

Mac was ALL OVER the place when we got back to the house.  He destroyed everything.  He pulled out all of his legos.  He pulled down all of the magnets he could reach.  He threw Uno cards everywhere.  Lastly, he pulled down every one of our cookbooks.  However, he looked so cute standing in the middle of a mess....
