First day of spring break

Today was my first official day of spring break.  It was awesome!  Mac let me sleep until 9.  WHAT WHAT.

I did some thank you writing today......with the view of Heyward passed out under me!

We got an awesome delivery from my mama today.....

And this was my view while Mac was napping....and what sucked is that he was blocking the cable box so I couldn't change the channel.

When Mac got up from his nap, it was game on.  He turned into Superpants and Joe was "backman" (which is Mac's version of batman).

Joe made us an awesome dinner of chicken enchiladas with mexican rice.  Delish.  Mac was patiently waiting....

We decided to head to the playground after dinner for some family fun.  We got all bundled up.  I have discovered that my snow bibs no longer zip.

We decided to put Mac in our bike trailer and I would push him to the playground while Joe walked Heyward.  Here was my view!

When we got there, Mac had a great time.  Things were a little slick and he would come shooting out of the slides.  I am pretty sure that it hurt his tuckus but it was so funny!

Mac made me crispy Bubba Burgers....

Mac made me crispy Bubba Burgers....

See? Proof of the funniness of Mac flying out of slides....

We headed back after a little bit.....

Mac got a bath and a story and then it was bedtime for him!  He is so stinking cute.  Oh my goodness.  I took some pictures earlier of Nora's room so far for a friend of mine at work.  She is one of the hosts for my work baby shower.  I think it is going to be a pretty big shower.  I am excited!  I keep playing around with my registries.  Fun!

Nora's room.

Mac made art for Nora's room today.  He colored a bunny and we put it on pretty girl wrapping and then in a frame.  Tomorrow we might make some more art.

And I don't remember if I put this on the blog already or not.....I painted an "N" in a burgandy color and then her name in light pink.....

Sunday!

Today was a packed day!  We planned the menus for the week, we went to the grocery store, we went to some other stores, we did laundry, etc.  BUSY BUSY BUSY.

I did get some closet dividers for Nora's closet.  After I washed everything, all of her adorable clothes needed a place to go.  Mac and Joe also "helped" me put clothes up.

Here is the view of her closet:

I put her outfits in the closet as well as the coordinating pants with shirt/onesy in the closet.  Her socks are currently in the canister on the right side of the closet shelf.  Her socks are so teeny tiny!

All of her onesies and pants went in the dresser.  With Mac, we hung up pretty much everything.  That is not going to be happening in this closet.  The closet itself is bigger than Mac's baby closet in the old townhouse but he had more hanging space than what this one does.  No worries though.  I have the top drawer for her mittens, tights, and hats.  The second drawer is for zero-3 months clothes....

The third drawer is the drawer for 6-9 month clothes.

And the bottom drawer is for her 12 month clothes. I figure by the time we get to 12 month size that we would be bumping the clothes up in the drawers.  It just gives me somewhere to put them for now!

The majority of all of this was accomplished after Mac went down for his nap.  Whew.  Good thing too because when he woke up he was a crazy man.  You need proof?  Here ya go.

After dinner, we promised Mac a family movie night complete with popcorn.  Didn't know that the big man would TEAR up some popcorn.  He chose to watch Despicable Me 2.  Apparently today, he was a Mama's boy (that is RARE).  He did not at all want to snuggle with Joe.  So Mac and I had a mini photo shoot while we snuggled and watched the movie.

And to top everything off?  I do not have to work tomorrow because I am on Spring Break!!!!!!!!!!!!

Virtual Baby Shower!

So Amy is awesome and hosted a virtual baby shower for us!  She started it up via Facebook and people shipped stuff up here to us!  It was great fun!  We were going to Skype or Facetime people as we opened presents but then we realized that we didn't have the numbers for everyone.  I had the idea (while at work, trying to avoid grading terrible essays) to have Joe just video me opening presents and then we could post them to the Facebook group.  GENIUS! (If I may say so myself).

I feel incredibly loved.  There was SO much to open!  Nora is going to be a very nicely dressed little lady!  I actually spent a good bit of today (Sunday) washing her clothes and putting them up.

Here are the pictures that I posted via Facebook after I opened everything.  I will be spending tomorrow writing some serious thank you cards!

Saturday!

Saturday was awesome (minus Mac refusing to nap and then being a crazy person).  We took stuff by Plato's closet (I cleared out my clothes and purses).  We took additional, unwanted books by a book consignment store and got new books!

It makes my heart happy to see how much Mac loves books.  He LOVES LOVES LOVES books.  I wonder where he gets that from??????  I picked up some new books too!  I am pretty excited about the book The Monument's Men.  It is the book that the new movie is based upon.  I like to read historical stuff so that's going to be my spring break read.  On the way home, Mac passed out.

We also ran into our newish neighbors and they were sooooo sweet.  They saw us in the driveway and were worried about me since my car wasn't in the driveway for a little bit.  They were worried that I had the baby already.  They offered to watch Mac anytime that we needed.  So sweet!

Nora's room update

I made Joe move the furniture in Nora's room....again.  I think I am in love with this placement so it is going to stay!

I am super excited about the virtual baby shower tomorrow!  Nora's crib is FULL of boxes/bags/awesomeness!

Yesterday, my favorite antique store out in Wasilla emailed me that they found something that they thought I would want.  A vintage bingo carousel thing.  UMMMMMM HECK YES!  I have spent two days ridiculously excited about this.  No one gets it....my love of bingo.  After we got off work today, we headed out to Wasilla to go to the antique store because it was going to be mine!  That store is one of my all time favorite places.  The stories behind their pickings are awesome.  We were lucky enough to be there when Kelly (the owner of Alaska Picker) brought in his new find.....a derby boxcar from way back.  It was COOL!  After I roamed around for a while, I found 2 books (one was from 1911) for Nora's room.  We also found a beyond beautiful clock that has a little drawer on the bottom of it.  I think Joe wants it in our room.  The cool thing about Alaska Picker/Fancy Lou (besides the just awesome stuff) is that their prices are pretty awesome!  Plus we get to hang out with some cool people and hear about their trips around Alaska to find this stuff!

When we got back to the house, it was my priority to put my new finds in their places (well, minus the clock).  Into Nora's room I went.  I put the bingo thing on the dresser under Joe's grandma's painting and next to my ballet shoes.  I put one of the books under my ballet shoes to give it a little more definition.  I put the other book on the side table next to the rocker under a small picture frame.  The frame is currently blank but as soon as Miss Nora makes her appearance there will be a picture of her and Mac in it.  I also moved one of my silver platters from our bedroom into Nora's room on the vanity (which is her changing table).  I figured it would be a super cute way to corral all of the diapering utensils.....I also pulled out some of my super cute baby dresses and we hung 2 of them up on the wall above the changing table/vanity.  I still have a light blue dress that I am contemplating where I am going to display it.

I have plans to add something above the painting above the dresser.  I was playing around with distressing a piece of wood and then somehow spelling out Nora's name on it.  I am still playing around in my head with it though.  Something definitely needs to go above it.  Oh and in the picture with the dresses, ignore the giant mound of baby clothes.  That is my "to be washed" pile.  Speaking of clothes, I seriously need to start filling her dresser with the clothes that are in the closet........

Weekend Recap

This has been an......interesting weekend.  So here is the official recap.

FRIDAY:

Friday I wore a ridiculous Hawaiian outfit to work.  I was taught yoga in the floor of my Department Chair in the middle of the sped offices by the sped counselor.  It was hilarious.

I was feeling really uncomfortable and crampy Thursday and Friday.  My friend Kim told me that I needed to call my doctor so I did.  I drove home. Laid on the sofa.  Then I got the phone call from the doctor's office which informed me that I once again needed to go to OB Triage (aka maternity emergency room).  Joe was on his way home with Mac and they pulled into the driveway while I was getting in the car.  I told Joe that he should just stay at home until I know more about what was going on.  This time I was prepared for the hospital.  I had a book.  I had a cell phone charger.  AND I had food.  I checked in.  They weighed me (I am at 153 so a weight gain of 20 pounds).  I was put into a room and strapped to monitors.  Low and behold the same thing was happening.  I was having contractions again.  Just like last time.  AARRRGGGGHHHHHHH.  I texted Joe and he got Mc ready to go to Erica's (she had already told him to bring Mac by if I had to go into the hospital).  While I was waiting on Joe, I read my book.

Then they put in my IV.  My arms currently look like a druggie's.  I have bruises still from last time.  I almost puked on the nurse when they did my IV.  I don't like needles.  She did give me Lidocane this time in both arms (she had a hard time getting my veins to cooperate).  I went through an IV bag almost by the time that Joe got there.  They checked my cervix (it was doing nada which is good).  My contractions still did not stop so they brought on another IV and a blood pressure pill that helps relax the uterus.  At this point, I was TIRED.

I was happy though knowing that Mac was in good hands with Erica......

I finally was able to go home and we got home around 11:30.  I was exhausted.  My body hurt from being in the hospital bed for so long and for having contractions for 2 days.

SATURDAY:

I spent Saturday pretty much on the sofa.  I got some snuggles in with Mac.

Heyward had a good time on the floor.....

When Mac went down for his nap, Joe and I crashed.  I discovered that napping on the sofa is extremely comfortable.  Saturday night we watched The Lorax and I got more snuggles in with Mac!

SUNDAY:

We got up.  Had breakfast.  Ran to the grocery store. Did some cleaning around the house.  I got my toes done with my friend Liz (can't reach my feet anymore). We are currently watching The Lorax again........

And here is Mac's new desk!
