SNOWY SNOWY DAY

April is so weird.  We had a week of 40+ degree weather and then BAM!  We get hit with a huge snowstorm that is supposed to last through next Friday.

(Taken from Channel 2, KTUU's facebook page)

This morning when we woke up we had about an inch.  See?

At 7:00 right before we put Mac to bed this was our view.....

Yup, we are currently at about 8 inches of snow.  The snowflakes are HUGE and it is coming down like rain.  CRAZY April weather.

On Friday, this insane stomach bug took out 2 of the high schools up here.  I am bound and determined for this family not to get sick so I definitely took advantage of being stuck indoors by doing some mad cleaning.  Bathrooms?  Cleaned from top to bottom.  Laundry?  Cleaned.  Towels?  Cleaned.  Blankets?  Cleaned.  Dusting even went on.  Tomorrow, we are going to steam the floors.  DETERMINED that we are not going to get sick.  What was even more awesome is that Mac let me scrub (while Joe was painting).  We got sooo much accomplished today.  AND I even went to a Zumba class.  Boom.

We did spend a couple of hours all snuggly on the sofa, with a fire going, while watching Toy Story.  We are trying to desperately expand Mac's movie watching.  We separated out Mac's movies from the rest of the movies so we know what we already have for him.  We definitely need to get him more movies!

Before bedtime, it is "let's tackle Mac and brush his teeth time."  He always runs upstairs and gets on his bathroom stool.

Even though that sounds awesome, he just sucks the toothpaste off of the toothbrush and then states that he is done.  Then the real rodeo begins.

Joe is currently upstairs doing another coat and touchups!  I cannot wait to put Mac's big boy room together!  I am going to continue sitting here watching HGTV's House Hunters and watching the snow fall.......

Prep work

This weekend we have big plans.  Those big plans consist of painting Mac's bedroom.  Tonight we have moved everything out......his crib has shifted to the DESTROYED guest room.  No worries.  It will eventually go back to right.....

See?  Destroyed.  There are toys and just stuff everywhere in our house now.  It is amazing how cleaning one room completely out will effect the rest of your house.....

I went to town doing some prep work in Mac's room...aka I taped off his bedroom.  I forgot how much I dislike taping.  Joe is up there taping off the stuff I couldn't reach and taking off the outlets.

Tomorrow, Joe will begin painting and my job is to keep Mac entertained and away from his bedroom.

I am so excited!

Go oside.

Today, is GORGEOUS.  Another sunny, beautiful day and I cannot tell you how happy it makes me.  When Joe got home with Mac, Mac wanted him to put stickers on....

We were going to have Chicken Caesar Salad for dinner but we realized that our dressing was no good so Joe had to run to the store.  While he was gone, Mac and I went "oside".....which is the adorable way that Mac says outside.  He had a good time.

I sees skies of blue.....

Today was GORGEOUS!  Look at the temp when I was driving to pick up Mac!

That means I rolled my car windows down....or at least I did until I came up on GIANT puddles.

On my way to get Mac, I noticed a Grandma driving with this license plate.....

(You Only Live Once)

We have had this GINORMOUS puddle in front of our house since breakup has started.  The city finally sent some people to pump out the water.  I don't think they could find the drain because they were walking around with a metal detector.

They literally just put this hose in the giant puddle and bye-bye water.....

Since it was so nice outside, we decided to go play outside on the backporch!  Mac wanted to help shovel....

We came inside to play. (CROSS YOUR FINGERS THIS VIDEO WILL LOAD).

Then it was brush the teeth time...this usually turns into a wrestling match with my 2 year old.  It is not easy wrestling a large toddler.

Don't worry, we got this on video too (CROSS YOUR FINGERS AGAIN THAT THIS WORKS).

"Hey Daddy"

Today was a LONG day.  We started state based testing and Joe flew out of town for work.  I had to drop Mac off SUPER early this morning.  As I was driving to Erica's, someone cut me off and I yelled "serious" and from my back seat I hear Mac say his version of "serious."  I was running a little late so when I ran into Erica's I literally handed over Mac and his food....and a bottle of wine as a "thank you."

What is an awesome end to my day is when I am walking up Erica's front porch and I can hear Mac yelling "mommy."  AMAZING.  It immediately brought a smile to my face.

When we got home, Mac wanted to take a picture for daddy.

Mac was my hot date for the night....we dined on chicken nuggets and french fries!  We also got snuggle time in!

If you're happy and you know it...

CLAP YOUR HANDS!  STOMP YOUR FEET!

This is the song that Mac likes singing today.  "Happy happy (clap clap clap) stomp feet"

Our favorite phrase today?  "my banket (blanket)"   That boy is SILLY!  He has been in a super good mood!  Apparently, he was a good boy at Erica's.  That makes me feel happy because I have to drop him off super early for the next 2 days because of testing.  I hate state testing.

Mac drank out of his big boy Easter cup with a silly straw.  He discovered how to make bubbles in his milk.....ok so there is supposed to be a video attached in this post but the website is REALLY not wanting this to happen...FRUSTRATING.

Joe came home from work a little early so he could catch the Braves opening game (the whole time I am getting texts/facebooked that our friend Matt is at the game).  It is such a GORGEOUS day to watch some baseball.

As I am typing this I am literally watching my boys fight over "my banket."

As soon as the current inning of the Braves game is over, we are going to go outside to demonstrate how LARGE the "lake" in front of our driveway is and to take a family walk in the neighborhood.

Crockpot Chicken Tomato Soup

Score one more for Pinterest!  I found this recipe via Pinterest and we tried it out today:

http://rivernorthpaleo.blogspot.com/2012/03/creamy-crockpot-chicken-and-tomato-soup.html

Here is our take on this awesomely amazing soup!

8 frozen skinless boneless chicken breast
2 tablespoons Italian Seasoning
1 tablespoon dried basil
2 cloves garlic, minced (we used 4 garlic cloves)
1 large onion, chopped (we used a little more than one because we had extras)
2 14 oz. can of coconut milk (full fat), shake before opening can to avoid separation
2 14 oz. can diced tomatoes and juice
2 cups of chicken broth
1 small can of tomato paste
1/2 jar of your favorite tomato sauce
Sea Salt and pepper to taste

Throw all of that stuff in the slow cooker.  Cook on Low for 8 hours (the original recipe calls for 9 hours but our slow cooker gets REALLY hot).  It would be good served over rice.  We had Asiago bread to dip with ours.  DELISH!
