Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was nice.  We had Sarah & Lee and Marcelo & his family over for dinner.  We ate dinner at like 5 rather than the 2-3 that we normally do.  It was kind of nice because I did not overeat.

Mac was super sleepy and decided to watch tv like this (since he did not take a nap).

Preparing!

We decided to do Thanksgiving at 5 instead of mid-afternoon.  It was an awesome idea!  We got to be lazy and leisurely cook rather than feeling rushed!

Mac decided that he wanted his shirt off (he seems to be very proud of his belly and he likes to show it off).....

He also wanted to show Bella some serious loving.  He LOVES LOVES LOVES Bella.  

While Joe was in the kitchen, Mac decided he wanted to be in the kitchen as well.  He is sometimes such a weird baby.  He literally beat the oven with his hammer and then kissed everything.  WEIRD.  

After we got the food going, I needed to actually get dressed because we had people coming over.  I go upstairs to "put on my face."  Joe and Mac decided to come upstairs too which is where Mac discovered the big tub of socks that I have not folded.  I hate folding socks so I constantly put it off.  Mac found great enjoyment playing in the socks.  Joe had a great time playing in the socks as well.  Sometimes I am a little outnumbered in the weird things that they like to do....

Joe said that I needed to title this post "getting ready for turkey day" "getting ready for t-day."  He is silly.

Thank goodness I get a long weekend.  Our students have been OUT OF CONTROL.  This is a much deserved break.  I got home today and began straightening up because we are having people over tomorrow for Thanksgiving dinner.  When Joe got home we ate dinner and then he headed to the store for the things that we forgot to get.....and I had play time with my Godzilla.  Erica had to give him teething tablets today because he was upset and they made him stop crying.  I think he is breaking in some of those big back teeth.  I love that baby and his sweet, slobbery kisses.











Our new favorite show is Duck Dynasty and we watch a lot of it.  This is what Mac looks like when he watches Duck Dynasty....

Joe and I are doing: turkey, stuffing, turkey gravy, dressing (first time I am making this and I am slightly nervous), apple pie, and caramel sauce for the apple pie.  Tonight we cooked the apple pie and I made cornbread for the dressing.  



While the pie is cooking, Joe and I are cuddled up watching "Christmas Vacation".......I LOVE THIS TIME OF THE YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shared bathtime

I have been a DIY fiend lately.  Pinterest has really sparked a fire to get stuff done.  I am super excited about Christmas because of how much DIY is going on around this Cash Family's house.

I came home today to a package from our in-laws (Joe says I am not supposed to open them but I say it doesn't say "Jami don't open" so it is game for opening).  Inside, there was a packet for Mac which he enjoyed and there was a Charlie Brown Christmas tree.  It is currently our table centerpiece.  It makes me quite happy.

After dinner, Mac desperately needed a bath so upstairs we went.  I really wanted to get a picture of his naked little butt standing in front of the tub.  However, before I could even get back upstairs with my phone camera, Mac had started peeing and Joe panicked and stuck him in the tub.  No cute chunky butt pictures.  While Mac was in the tub, Bella decided that she wanted in for some weird reason.  She then decided to just start drinking the water.  This led to Mac leaning forward trying to copy her.  Sometimes I really don't understand what goes on around my house....

After Mac got out of the tub, Joe read the book "Meet your family" to Mac.  Mac likes looking at the pictures of all of our family.  So sweet.  Once Mac went to bed, Joe decided to bottle his latest batch of beer. 

Bob.

Bob.  That is how Mac refers to Spongebob.  Bob.  He gets excited when he sees Spongebob and points and goes "Bob."  He is super silly.  We spent some time playing on the sofa today (by far the best part of my day).

We had a fun time playing with the flip side of my Iphone.  He LOVES looking at himself in the screen.  There are a couple of videos of himself that he watches over and over again while making the same noises in person that he does on the video.  Silly.

I am super in the Christmas mode.  I got some Christmas presents ordered today.  I got our Christmas cards ordered today.  We started working on Mac's Christmas present (tool bench).  It is going to be stinking cute!

A little early....

So on Friday, I bought our mantle Christmas decorations.  Joe originally said that I could not put it up.  Ha.  I do what I want.  I haven't put the stockings up yet....mostly because they are in the Christmas box and we are not dragging that out until next Friday.

I love Pier 1.  It is an awesome place.  I could have spent a TON of money in there but I refrained.  

After we did our professional pictures today, Joe was on the phone with Mary and he gave the phone to Mac.....Mac is so stinking cute on the phone!
