1 shoe, 2 shoe.

Mac was in an awesome mood today.  He woke up singing and sang throughout the majority of the day.  He loves playing with his trucks.

Mac thoroughly enjoys playing with our shoes....he does it all the time.

Mac loves to get a "bah" of our food...that is Mac speak for "can I have a bite?"  Today he wanted a "bah" of Joe's Buffalo Ranch Doritos.  Those chips are DELISH.  They have a pretty good kick to them and Mac loved them.  He had red stuff all over his face.  I tried to capture it on camera but it didn't come out the way I wanted.  But he is so stinking cute.....

Wah-loo

Wah-loo.  In Mac language that means "water".  He is silly.  He was in a great mood this afternoon.  I got video proof.

Monster Mac!

So I had an awesome idea that Jami and I are going to start doing. We are going to post our favorite Mac screaming photo each week. Its going to be called Monster Mac Photo of the Week! Here's this weeks photo:

Here's two happy pictures:

And a video of me bopping Mac in the head:

On a lighter note, the shrimp in the fish tank really like our new electric fire scallop. The shrimp mostly hid until I put the scallop in there so its cool to see them out with the light on.

Hurricane Alaska pt. 2?

The weather....was not as bad as they expected.  In fact, the wind is just now picking up!  However, parts of Anchorage have flooded!  Our roads are not really meant for the heavy rain that we have been getting so the water just sits there.  What people in Anchorage consider "rain" is actually "drizzle."  Silly people.

This morning this is what I saw....

I probably should have rested today but I did not.  I still have a cold.  We did get some cool stuff done today.  This Cash family went to Lowes where we bought the white curtains and tan spray paint so we can attempt to make the stripe curtains I so want.  We also went to Pier 1 where we got part of the stuff that was put on the wall behind the sofa.  AND we also went to Michaels where we got the rest of what would go above the sofa.....

We used some antique looking (totally not antique) scrapbook paper to fill in some of the picture slots.  I knew I didn't want a picture in every one.  We used the pictures that were in a frame for our wedding. There is one blank window because I am still desperately searching for my Grandma and Grandpa's picture to go in there.  It is somewhere and I can't find it.  We got a round frame from Michaels and I also used the scrapbook paper in it.  Joe wrapped a letter "C" in twine and we hung it on the frame!  I like how it turned out.  What do you think?

Joe finished screwing in the first pallet bench.  All that is left for it is to be sanded down and to find a cushion!  Then he gets to start the second pallet bench!

The search....

I am on the hunt for amazing curtains.  Unfortunately, the wide world of the internet does not have really what I am looking for (or if they did they were $200 a panel which is ridiculous).  So what have I done?  I turned to Pinterest.  And on Pinterest I found the directions for DIY horizontal stripe curtains.  After polling some friends (AKA Morgan and Sarah), they have decided for me that my horizontal stripe curtains should be white and a tan.  The next thing I need to look at is what I am going to hang it on......it has to be awesome because that is a large wall.

Moving on.  To the next house decorate-y thing.  Joe mounted the picture wall hang-y thing that I got yesterday from Pier 1.  It looks awesome!

So my personal computer's battery is sick, so today I took it to the Apple store and they are fixing it for me.  I decided to do some shopping (which I love).  I found Mac's halloween costume!

When I got home, Joe had set up the Georgia Tech table that Mike and Mary had sent up.  When Mac got up, he thoroughly enjoyed separating his sippy cups on it....

On an Alaska note....we are waiting for the Alaskan hurricane #2 to hit.

And another day...

This morning we got up, got ready, and then went to get Mac.  That didn't go too well.  He screamed.  We made the executive decision for me to stay home with Mac today.  He was a TERROR.  He screamed all day.  No lie.  Screamed.  It was the longest day (especially since I am rocking an awesome head cold).  What I found weird though was that most babies want their teddy bears but my baby wants his trucks.....

I got Mac to stop screaming by showing him my Iphone.  It worked for like 3 minutes (and I am not exaggerating)...

After a while I got tired of him screaming at me so I just put him in his crib and hopped in the shower so I couldn't hear him.  When I got out of the shower, I COULDN'T hear him!!!!!  He was finally asleep.

When Joe got home, I left for Mommy Alone Time.  Mommy Alone Time is AWESOME.  I got a cute shirt and a dress and a new gorgeous burgandy colored purse.....and a funky metal wall picture thing and a regular picture frame from Pier 1 Imports.  I love Pier 1.  It is the best place ever and I could spend a LOT of time in there.  So much cute stuff!  When I got home, Joe put my new beautiful purse on Mac.  He for some weird reason liked wearing it and wore it for a while.....

On an Alaska note, we are weather forecasted to get SLAMMED again tomorrow.  We are supposed to be getting crazy winds again and a LOT of rain.  This should be interesting.  We are going to have to be a lot more prepared for power outage this go around.  I have been making a list of things we need to get in the grocery store.

My day with sick boys

I did not sleep last night.  Joe was in our bed (I was not fixing to sleep there because I cannot get the cooties) so I slept downstairs on the sofa.  Or at least I planned to sleep downstairs on the sofa...

Around 1:30 in the morning, I heard Joe throwing up and Mac in his crib.  Good thing I wasn't asleep.  So I go upstairs.  I made the executive decision to sleep in the guest room.  I did not sleep very well.

When Mac got up he still didn't feel good.  He didn't want to eat and just spent time cuddling on Joe.  Joe woke up feeling much better though (at least at first).

Around 1130 Joe started feeling bad so he went back upstairs to sleep until 3.  Luckily, Mac started feeling better.  Unfortunately, Mac was super sleepy and REFUSED to go to sleep.  REFUSED.  He has also had NO interest in food.  I was able to get him to eat a ritz cracker and like 2 bites of bread.  He has lots of water going in though.

Thank goodness for the sanitize cycle of our awesome washing machine.  It has been getting definite usage today.  I am exhausted.  Tomorrow, I can't take off from work because we have Open House at the school.  I will be at work tomorrow from 7 am until close to 8 pm.  This week sucks.  Just saying.

Fingers crossed that everyone gets to feeling better!
