Joe's back!

Today was a great day with Joe being back from Georgia!  He was able to cuddle with Mac this morning (Mac woke up a little cranky and still feverish)....

Poof!  Mac is awake!  He then decided to run around with my cell phone...with his crazy bedhead.

After Mac played for a while, he went down for a nap....and he slept for a pretty long time!  Apparently he had a MASSIVE poopy diaper while I was gone running errands so Joe stuck him in the bathtub.  When Mac got out he apparently did not want clothes on...so we thought it would be funny to put him in the tie that Good Mama bought him (she rocked out with a clothing sale at The Children's Place).



After he played for a while, we then went to the grocery store!  You can look at the picture below and see how tired he is just by his eyes....and how he doesn't feel good.  I am a little excited about a recipe we are going to try out tomorrow (crescent roll french dip sandwiches)!  We also got veggies so I could puree them to sneak into Mac's food.

Apparently going to the grocery store was just exhausting for Mac (didn't help that it is super overcast and rainy), so when we got home he went back to sleep.  When he magically woke up, we fed him and then he ran around playing.  Joe thought it would be HILARIOUS to put his new hat on Mac....

Joe and I decided to take a drive to look at our house again (I am so stinking excited!).  This led to us talking about what color we want to paint the exterior probably next summer.  We drove around a neighborhood near our house because the houses are very new and very pretty colored.  There are so many options!  Joe and I really liked a chocolate brown, blue/grey-ish, or a moss green.  We have to think about the main color.....and the trim color.....and the garage door color......and the front door.....

In the process of driving around, we ended up in our friends Sarah and Lee's neighborhood.  They just bought their townhome and I had yet to see it so I gave her a call telling her I was in her driveway (well kind of...we were in the wrong driveway).  Their new place is soooo cute and I am so happy for them!

Snuggly time

Mac has not felt good today.  He woke up this morning YELLING.  He was crying so hard that he started doing this hiccup thing.  He refused to let me put a clean diaper on him (I really have no idea how I ended up getting it on him).  I brought him upstairs with his favorite blanket (the shiny blue one) and he snuggled me for about 30-45 minutes while he catnapped.  He NEVER snuggles me really anymore now that he is so active and I also think he doesn't like putting his head on my bony shoulders.  I always try to put his blanket on my shoulder for extra padding.  Even though he was super unhappy when he woke up, after he snuggled a little bit he just popped himself up and started giggling.

You repeat this and that is pretty much how the day went.  Getting him to take a nap was no bueno.  He only went down for like 40 minutes and then some stupid person started cutting grass and woke him up.  I literally thought about going outside and shoving that person under the lawn mower.  Mac woke up screaming again.  Repeat.

He did manage to get some play time in.  However, he wanted me near him all the time which is not usually his style.  

I took the pictures below mostly to try to capture the craziness known as his hair.  It seriously never fails to make me giggle.  It is going to be out of control as he gets older.....

Due to not feeling good and a teeny tiny nap, he started rubbing his big boy eyes around 2:30 and seriously by 3:00 I had put him in the crib.  I thought that he would sleep for a couple of hours and then get up to play for a little bit then go back to sleep.  6:00 rolled by and he still had not woken up yet.  So I went downstairs to give him some milk thinking that would wake him up.  He woke up.  Then promptly went back to sleep.  I am a little nervous that he is going to wake up at like 9 and be wired.....

FINGERS CROSSED!

Joe comes back today/tonight!  I am so excited to have him back.  The house is so lonely without him here......

"meme"ed

Apparently Mac got "meme"ed....and I have NO IDEA what that means.  I am going to assume it is something with the way that Andrew changed a picture I loaded to facebook.  I figured I would share it because it makes me giggle!

My big/little man

Let me tell you....Joe being gone makes things difficult (especially when I have a sick dog and a baby with an exploding diaper).  Luckily Joe gets back tomorrow!

Mac took a FOUR HOUR nap today.  I think it has something to do with the teething, the growth spurt, and the fact that he was awake and ready to play at 6 this morning....

Mac was a little picky about what he ate today....and I have noticed that I tend to take a lot of pictures of him while he is eating....which made me realize that I do this because that is when he is the most still.  Joe and I have an active baby!

Since Joe is out of town, Mac has taken it upon himself to "cook" my meals.  Today, he made me a gourmet meal of cookie cutters with a side of legos.  YUMMMMMMMM!

After Mac got done "cooking", it was time for him to eat!  He had a muffin...which he promptly shoved the whole thing in his mouth.  This was not a mini muffin.  This muffin was normal sized.  I have no idea why he feels the need to shove a whole bunch of food in his mouth at the same time.  I tried getting a picture of his cheeks super puffed out with muffin poking out of his mouth but it did not work out for me....this is what I got instead....

So I don't know if everyone does this or if this is just something that I do....I like lists.  I like making lists and I like checking things off of my list.  I made a list of things that I wanted to do while Joe was gone....

Clean bathrooms

Do laundry

Start packing

Dust

Clean out closet

I HAVE DONE NONE OF THESE THINGS.  None.  I look at the list and I say I need to do these things but then I just sit down and ignore it.  I like this approach.  However, I know that I am going to have to clean because we are about to have a month and a half of guests....and moving in the middle of it! 

Growth spurt vs. Teething

Mac has been a little fussy today.  He is also DROOLING a ridiculous amount.  So my very scientific self has concluded that Mac is either teething, having a growth spurt, and/or a combination of both!  He has a little bit of a fever (100-101).  And again, my scientific self has deduced that this is because of the shots he got on Monday, or growth spurt, or cold, or teething, and/or a mix of all!  However, he still plays pretty well!  He had a grand time chasing Bella, feeding Bella cheez-its, eating cheez-its himself, and running around with spatulas.....



 

 

Since Joe is heading towards Georgia right now as we speak, it is just the bear, the Bella, and me!  Mac decided to "cook" me dinner....
