Mother's Day Drive

I can't do any hiking/walking or stuff like that so since today is Mother's Day I really wanted to just go for a drive.  The weather is absolutely gorgeous and so it was a perfect day.  We loaded up the truck with Mac and put Heyward in the back.  Off we went down the Seward Highway to head to Portage Glacier.  That drive is absolutely gorgeous.  No more words.....just pictures!

"what a beautiful day"

Yesterday and today, this Cash family spent a LOT of time outside.  I am steadily working on becoming another color.  (and yes, I sit outside with my belly poking out).

I got so mad at Heyward yesterday because he dug up another one of my citronella plants.  I did manage to save it (hopefully) before he fully ate it.  However, apparently digging up my plants makes him incredibly tired.....

I also had a doctor's appointment yesterday.  When Joe got home, we packed Mac up and headed to the doctor's office.

Part of me thought yesterday morning that my water had broken.  However, since I knew I had a doctor's appointment I just stayed at home.  They ran a bunch of tests on me and my water did not break.  However, Nora is super super super low.  Her head is right on my cervix....as in there is no fluid between her and the cervix.  I don't know if my water is going to be able to break because her head is kinda blocking it.  The doctor was really surprised that I was not in labor with what I had been describing to her how I felt.  She did point out numerous times though that Nora is super low.  I think that she was surprised to see her that low at this point in the pregnancy.  I am still 2 cm dialated and 50% effaced.  This does not really surprise me.  I was at 2 cm and 75% effaced with Mac for the entire last month.  I am really hoping that this goes much quicker!

Switching topics.....the weather has been absolutely ridiculously gorgeous.  So we have spent a LOT of time outside.  This morning I went and got my toes done with a friend.  While I was gone, Joe used my Mother's Day present (a juicer!) to make juice.  I was able to get a cup when I got home and it was DELICIOUS!

We then headed outside for Joe to rake up the backyard.  Mac decided he wanted to help.  I sat my super pregnant self on the back porch chairs and watched.......I love watching my boys!  It is so cute when Mac helps!

Mac went down for a nap and Joe did some cleaning.  We had some friends coming over for dinner and play time on the playset.  He did such a good job!  Our house smells amazingly clean.  It always makes me happy to have a clean house.  When Mac got up, we headed back outside......and while he was sitting in the chair next to me, he looks at me and goes "what a beautiful day."  It made me giggle.

Tomorrow, Joe is going to make me raspberry swirl French toast.  I think we might stick Heyward in the back of the truck and go for a drive....possibly down to Portage?  Not that I can go for a walk, but it would be nice to get out of town and look at different scenery.  Plus that drive is gorgeous!  Oh, for the mommies in our lives....Joe was supposed to take your stuff to work with him and mail it out to yall.  He forgot.  It is sitting on our kitchen counter.......not sure when you are actually going to get it!  WE LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My little man

As I am typing this, Mac is sitting across from me eating breakfast and singing "if you're happy and you know it."  He just makes me smile.  As I look around my house, it is a disaster.  As in super cluttered and dirty and so incredibly overwhelming to think of actually cleaning it.

I am going to backtrack with this blog post a little bit.  The other day I cleaned Mac's room out.  Who knew that a 3 year old could stock pile just so much random crap.  Seriously.  I have no idea what half of that stuff went to.  I don't think I am going to buy him toys with teeny tiny pieces again.  We also washed his sheets but unfortunately the blood did not come out from the nosebleed that he had.  Oh well.  When Mac went to bed that night, he wanted all of his animals in his bed so I made a leaning tower of animals next to him.....

Later on that night we were looking at him in the video monitor and he looked to be in the most uncomfortable position so Joe went in to move him.....

And yes, my little man sweats all the time when he sleeps.  It could be 50 degrees in his room and he is going to wake up sweaty.  Gross.

Bella has been going in her kennel at night because she likes to let us know that she is not happy with us by piddling in the house.  I am not down with that so in the kennel she goes.  However, most nights she plays hide and seek with Joe.  We usually find her under our bed and we have to drag her out (and by "we" I really mean Joe).

Yesterday Mac went to preschool.  At 3:30 Joe walked in the door.  My first saying to him "where is my son?"  Yup.  That's right.  Joe forgot Mac.  So I went with him to go pick up Godzilla.  On the way there I got a text from his Miss Amy.  It was a picture that said that he refused to nap but he did poop in the potty!  And boy was it obvious later that he did not nap.  CRANKY CRANKY CRANKY.

However, so far this morning he is in a really good mood.  Yesterday evening was his last soccer practice until the summer session.  I did not go because I did not feel super awesome (spent the time soaking in the bathtub).  Mac brought back a paper from his coach that said how he did.....

-Mac is doing great!  He tries his best to keep the ball under control and close to his feet while dribbling,.  He also has a great big kick!
-Mac is super quick and has great speed for his age.  He seems to be very agile and very athletic.
-Mac has a great attitude and seems to love playing soccer.  He is attentive most of the time as long as we can keep those three focused.  LOL!
-Overall, Mac is doing just fine for his age.  It is super important that he associates playing soccer with having fun!

Joe took pictures at soccer practice but you might have to wait to get those from him........

Bloops & Rashes

My world currently revolves around the bathroom.  Talking about the bathroom.  Being in the bathroom.  And this is not for me.  The joys of potty training while super pregnant.  Mac has gotten really really good about peeing.  He still won't tell you when he has to pee but he goes in there and pees on his own.  This morning when I got him up, I told him to go down to his potty to go pee.  He did.  I went around the corner to see this....

I think he has the cutest booty.  He also pooped this morning in the toilet.  We refer to the splashes (yes, gross and TMI but whatever) as "bloops" and he gets a white chocolate chip per "bloop." He also gets a white chocolate chip when he farts on the toilet.  Again, gross and TMI but it is working.

Moving on from the bathroom talk (and yes, my world does literally revolve around the bathroom).  Mac and I spent some time snuggling this morning....kinda.  I have discovered that I have absolutely zero energy at all until roughly 10 oclock.  That is a lot of time for my Godzilla to run amuck.  Luckily, we watch his "shows" in the morning and then if the weather is nice we head outside.

Mac had company today!  Caryn and Cayla came over to play on the playset.  They stayed for like 2 hours.  After they left, Mac had a grilled cheese and strawberries and then it was naptime.  However, when I got him up from his nap, I noticed a rash.  He had started to have a little bit of a rash yesterday-ish but nothing like this.  It has been little red bumps that are raised to where you can feel them.  It was pretty much just on his torso.  When he got up, it had big time moved to his chest and looked terrible.  I had him go downstairs to go to the potty (where he informed me he needed to poop).  While he was on the toilet, I took his shirt off to get a better view of his chest.  It looked pretty bad.  About that time is when Joe got home.  Joe called our doctor (our pediatrician is fabulous) who said to come bring him by.  Here is what his chest looked like....

In looking at his chest, she said it could either be an allergic reaction to something he ate (which he didn't eat anything different or new) or a viral infection.  She gave him some Benadryl.  Told us to get some cream for his chest and said that if he was not better by Friday-ish-Monday-ish to call her.  She also told me that I needed to let my doctor know that it could be a viral infection in case that affects how they do with me.  Especially since this baby could decide to come while Mac still has the rash.  I called my doctor and talked to my nurse.  She told me to just keep an eye on myself and if I noticed the rash on myself that I need to call them.

Let me tell you, if it is not one thing then it is another...........

We are waiting to hear now if Erica is ok with him at daycare tomorrow or if he is staying with me.......

Out of Mac's Mouth

Mommy, I bring you flowers.

Daddy, I am Mommy’s zookeeper.

That’s not a hamburger, that’s a Bubba Burger.

It smells like a fart, excuse you daddy.

Look at my weewee dance.

Me: Mac, did you fall on your forehead?
Mac: No, I fall on my face.

I poop like Frankenstein.

I not poop.  I too busy.

Sales Lady: What are you going to name your dinosaur?
Mac: I burped.

Don’t fix me.  I’m not broken.

My butt fart on Mommy’s hand.

My booty looks like a butt.

Mommy, I like your big belly. I want to take a picture of your big belly.

Mommy, you are the best mommy in the world.

Mac: Amy, skunks smell bad.
Miss Amy: They do?
Mac: Yea and bears, too.
Miss Amy: Really?  Bears too?  Why do bears smell bad?
Mac: Cuz they farts.
