Just Another Manic Monday

I have a cold.  Complete with teeny tiny fever, coughing, sneezing, and general overall bubble feeling.  Awesome.  Mac was INCREDIBLY hyper yesterday and I just couldn't keep up.  At all. After Joe got home from work and then the vet, we went outside to keep painting the house.  Mac literally just ran amuck in circles (all the while yelling).  HYPER.

The news channel we follow posted a picture of the Bore Tide notification yesterday.  We have lived in Alaska for a while and have yet to see the Bore Tide....

The news channel also posted the following picture that was taken up on the hillside (not far from our house).  Isn't it crazy that this is what gets on the news up here?

Sunday Funday

Yesterday, we successfully went to Snow City.  Breakfast was awesome!  Making a reservation is the way to go as we didn't have a wait!  Mac tore up his pancakes (he ate the leftovers for breakfast today).

Yesterday, I had my first official Thirty-One party and it was awesome.  Mac took pictures with me before I left.  I got dressed up (I LOVE that Gap dress!)....

While I was gone, Joe started painting the house Needlepoint Navy and he emailed these pictures out....

When I got home, we ate a amazing dinner of grilled Bubba Burgers.  Then back outside we went for Mac to play and Joe to paint.

Snow City fake-out

This morning we had plans to go to Snow City Cafe.  We got there and there was an hour and ten minute wait.  No lie.  We left.  We are going to attempt this again tomorrow morning ( I actually made reservations).

There was a full day of painting (it's like modpodging our house), we took the screen door to donate, cooking, playing.....Fun in this house of Cash!

I made my Mama's shrimp and grits but I tweaked it a little bit.  I added onion, hot sauce, beef broth, and seasoning.  YUMMY YUMMY YUMMY!  Ate it over super cheesy grits.  OH MY!

Mac's Room: Updated

We are SLOWLY getting things done in Mac's bedroom.  Today, we put up a gallery wall (I have had it ready to go for forever) and we hung up one set of curtains.  The other window gets put up tomorrow.  We also moved where we put his video camera.

This just makes me smile.

Pinterest told me to use wax paper to put up a gallery wall.  So I did.  It made this so much easier!

Friday!

Friday morning, Mac and I went to a new playground (Valley of the Moon).  It is a pretty cool looking playground but it was just a little bit too "old" for Mac.  Plus, there were crazy big kids running all over the place!

Today was a full day!  We had plans to meet our neighbor and her grandson at a park!  Mac had a great great great time!  He has discovered a lose of enclosed slides.  He ran amuck for a while!  He climbed everything that was climbable.

When we got home I was POSITIVE that he was going to take an awesome nap.  I was mistaken.  I put him down at 1.  At 2, I went to retuck him in.  At the 2 oclock tuck-in, he actually went to sleep.  For thirty minutes.

Joe got some prepping painting done on the house.  The primer protector stuff (obviously I know exactly what I am talking about) that we are using is like seran wrap.....it kind of goes on like Modpodge.

Joe and Heyward went to puppy class (Heyward supposedly learn to "come") and I gave the big man a bath.  Before he could have bath time, he wanted to sit on the toilet.  Well the toilet upstairs in his bathroom doesn't have the toddler seat on it anymore because I moved it downstairs.  Did that phase him?  Nope.  He sat on the big toilet.  It was super cute because his feet were gripping the sides....

Did he do anything in the toilet?  Nope.  He sat there for about 10 minutes and decided he was ready to get in the bathtub.  Five minutes after being in the bathtub, he stood up, said "uhoh", looked down, and peed.  GOOD GRACIOUS.

Mac and I did some cleaning up after his bath.  He had toys EVERYWHERE.  He cleaned up his tools in his bedroom.  He put his toys away that were in the living room on the coffee table (which has taken a good ole beating).  Mac chanted "cwean up, cwean up" and did this little wiggle dance the entire time he cleaned.  Oh my goodness adorable!

Once we put Mac and Heyward to bed (Heyward sleeps in the garage in his kennel), Joe went back outside and I tackled the ugly pink bathroom.  Check out how Heyward sleeps.....(well, when Joe went to get the picture, Heyward opened his eyes)....

I. Love. My. Baby.

Sometimes he drives me nuts.  Sometimes I threaten to duck tape him to the garage door with a for sale sign on him.  That's only sometimes.  However, he is just so stinking cute.  I would not change anything.  He says the funniest things.  He gives great hugs!  He gives LOTS of kisses.  He has a crazy imagination.  Half the time I don't know what he is saying.  Yet, the phrases that he says are hilarious.  "Try it you like it" His facial expressions crack me up.  Right now he is sitting next to me making his feet clap together.

Who's nose does he have?  It is not mine and it is not Joe's.  None of us have a nose that turns up at the end.  It is weird that I have never really noticed this until this picture....

Yesterday, I went outside to check on my youngest fur baby and when I came back in I discovered Mac sitting on the toilet laughing hysterically while still wearing his diaper.  He is so funny!  I have been spending a lot of time lately in that godawful pink downstairs bathroom so I am plotting how I am going to change it.....

  Switching for a second for the crazy weather Alaska has been having.  Look at this satellite photo of Alaska during the heat wave.  No clouds.  Miserable!
