4th of July weekend

This weekend was AWESOME.  It was the first time we took the camper out this summer and the first time Nora went camping.  She was great.  I was a little nervous about how this was going to work out because we would have our kids and both of the dogs and just craziness but everything was awesome!  We drove up to Willow, Alaska (which is the location of the official start of the Iditarod) to go camping.  We were in a campground that was right on a river which was great.  We were meeting up with friends of ours (the Marvel family).  We got there first and spent some time playing around.  We had a really great time with them and the weather was completely amazing.  I actually improved on my tan.  We spent a lot of time on Saturday in the river playing around.  That water was COLD.  I think pictures might speak more than I could so.....here ya go!  (oh and they are not in any particular order)

Whew.  Picture overload!  We had a great time though!  We definitely got some camping tricks from Aimee and Chris this weekend.

Nora @ One Month

Yesterday, Nora hit the one month mark. Oh my!

It is hard to believe that my big girl has been here for a month already.  We have learned many things about her!

-She hates when she is in the carseat and the car is not moving.
-She has started cooing.
-She eats a LOT.
-She gets up about once a night and then a feeding around 5:30 or 6:00.
-She likes to be talked to.
-She freaks out in the bath unless you talk to her.
-She does not like to be rubbed quickly (no speedy washes or lotioning).
-She loves to look at the lights.
-She pretty much only sleeps at night when she is swaddled in those Swaddle Me things.
-She loves to look at her brother.
-She can hold her head up.
-She is pretty strong.
-She likes to lay on her changing table and look out the window.
-She has mansized burps.
-She has mansized noises out of her cute little booty.
-She has her mama's chicken legs and blue eyes.
-She is overall a pretty happy baby.
-She still has a lot of hair but it is getting lighter in color and curlier. 
-She has finally moved out of newborn clothes.  She rocks the 0-3 months.
-She is super long.  Finding clothes that fit her length is a little difficult because most clothes have a wider girth.
-She has a strong grip.  It particularly hurts when she grabs hold of excess skin known as fat. 
-She has started smiling (for real, not gas).
-She hates sudden noises....like the ice maker in our fridge. 

We went to her 1 month appointment yesterday and I could have sworn we had to have shots but that is at her next appointment.  Nora has been gaining weight rather steadily (as if you couldn't tell by those chubby cheeks).  She weighs in at a big whopping 10 pounds 12 ounces.  No lie.  Big girl.  Apparently, I only have big kiddos!

We took her 1 month pictures (we are going to try to do monthly growth pictures with her).  We also had some outtakes and pictures that were ok but we just didn't like as much.  Figured I would share those too....she has some funny facial expressions.

Today=Exhausting

I am not tired because I did not sleep.  I did.  Well, sleep.  Nora woke up at 3 and I slept through it so Joe took care of her.  She sleeps pretty awesome considering she is a month old.  I am exhausting because of a certain 3 year old.  This morning got off to a great start.  Both of my kids were in a great mood.  Nora was playing nonstop.  Mac was running amuck.  Then Mac got a little too much.  He kept Nora from going to sleep.  Nonstop whining and fussing and yelling and flinging his body around (which doesn't sound like a big deal until he flings his big ole head into the entertainment center).  Around 11 oclock I had hit my threshold.  Nora was fussing big time because she was tired but every time she would go to sleep Mac would do something.  I fixed Mac an early lunch and then gave him an early naptime.  By that point, Nora had reached HER threshold and there was not much that I could do to make her feel better.  About the time that I got her to sleep, someone decided to knock on the door setting Bella off and waking Nora back up.  I wanted to stab someone in the jugular. No joke.  However frustrated as I may be, I look at these beyond adorable pictures and deep down I smile.  They are just so stinking cute.
