Friday Funday

Thank goodness that I had no students on Friday....because it was the start of Spring Break!  I got done with work at 10:30 so I went to the gym.  When I got home, breakup was going in full force.  Breakup is what Alaskans call the time of year when the snow melts and the world is GROSS.  We had mud rivers going down our road....

We had plans to go to our friend's Anna and Ian's house for dinner.  We ended up staying until midnight (and for some weird reason Mac was still awake).  We were taking twice baked potatoes.  Joe had to run to the store to get stuff so I got to stay home with my man.  My weird little man wanted to play in his crib....

GOOD MORNING!!!!!!

Today was an AWFUL day at work.  Seriously.  Fight.  A knife.  Drama.  Drama.  More drama.  So when I got home I drank this....

My husband loves me so much that he brought this home.....

Joe got home with my big man.  He was good today!  Mac was in such a great mood!  He wanted to have some serious quality snuggle time under the blanket....

Joe got a hold of Mac and we got some good old belly laughs....Sorry one of the videos is a little blurry but his laugh is so awesome!

Mac hates when we wear socks.  He also thinks it is hilarious to pull them off of our feet.

Gallery ledges

Joe and I have discovered Ana White.  She is a blogger and author who builds her own furniture.  She puts her furniture plans online and we have bought her book.  We have a list of things that Joe is going to build.  We decided to start simple though before we get to the jewelry armoire that Joe is going to build me.

We are starting with a gallery ledge.  We originally planned to do one long gallery ledge over the giant window in our living room but then we decided that would be too heavy.  Joe came up with the idea of splitting it up into 3 gallery ledges that we would just space apart above the window.

Joe put the ledges together and we chose a off-white color that is similar to our fireplace mantel to paint the ledges.

The next step (after they dried) we had to bring them in to pre-drill holes so we could install them.

Joe started plotting where to put the holes.

The shelves go in....

Then I had to plot what we were going to put in them......the best part about gallery ledges?  We can switch out the pictures we have up there whenever we want!

And yes, we are watching King of Queens at this time......

Georgia wall art

Pinterest scores again!  I have been seeing a lot of state outlines in frames and they are oh so cute.  I had an extra "floating" frame so I thought "why not?".  I went to Google Images.  Found a map of Georgia I liked.  Pasted it into Microsoft Word.  Hit print.  Cut it out.  Put in frame.

Seriously.  It was that easy.

I am going to do one with the state of Alaska too to go above the "house divided" picture.

Weekend recap

So I was slightly lazy in the blog posting over this weekend.  My bad.

Saturday we got up to a lazy morning.  Joe picked us up some donuts from Dino's Donuts (DELISH).  Mac and I spent some lazy time in the recliner....

We moved Mac's train set upstairs to the guest bedroom.....

 I got to looking on Craigslist at the garage sales and we decided we were going to go check some out.  We scored: some crystal jars, glass storage jars, binders, and a sander.  I had a coupon for Michael's pictures frames so we went there as well.  I placed an order to have some of our Christmas professional pictures printed.  (post to come on that later)

Saturday night we went to our friend's Caryn and Nick's place for dinner.  The kids went nuts!  We had an impromptu dance party...

Sunday morning was another lazy day.  Mac and I again spent time in the recliner.

After lazy time, we headed to Costco and the grocery store.  Apparently, those errands wore Mac out....

Mac is awesome.  He constantly makes me giggle.

Today we went to Red Robin for dinner.  Mac was pretty excited with his cup.

Once we got our food, Joe decided to eat some off of Mac's plate and this was Mac's response....
